“We can do the equipping and the investing. Then it’s about choice.”
This is a crazy season for me: heaps of school-work, History coursework prep, exams, work experience, Youth, Young Adults, church, family, work, friends, etc. I also received an offer to read Theology & Religion at my favourite university choice, Durham, yesterday. I really am so happy! I used to be rubbish at waiting but the process of applying to university and having to wait the longest to hear from Durham has forced me into patience.
The challenge I’m now faced with is this: am I going to be proactive in growing in addressing my areas of weakness now? I want to be. I’m convinced, after this period of learning how to be patient, that being proactive is absolutely key to growth. So I just want to be more patient, more graceful, more faithful, etc. etc.
All of this can occur solely through Christ who strengthens me. These are formative years and all that is ahead is exciting. I am determined to experience what a life wholly devoted to serving God truly means.
“See the problem with religion is it never gets to the core, it’s just behaviour modification like a long list of chores… So, for religion? No, I hate it. In fact, I literally resent it. Because when Jesus said “It is finished”, I believe He meant it.”
“His message today? ‘I was in the world in Jesus Christ reconnecting the world to Me and I am not counting your sins against you today. The story today is even for the screw-ups, it’s even for the mess-ups’… It is powerful and that’s why it’s called amazing amazing grace.”
